That means knowing which metrics are worth measuring. To understand if a campaign is delivering results, you have to know which specific results you are aiming for.

For instance, perhaps your main goal is to boost early downloads of an app. If a marketing strategy yields a large number of new social media and email newsletter followers, but doesn’t appear to have a substantial impact on app downloads, you would need to make changes to it. Strong performance in other metrics does not equal strong performance overall.
